MROpen in the USA: first unit installed in NYC

June 1st 2011

One year after market launch the Truly Open Superconductive MRI enters the USA: first MROpen unit has been installed at Doshi Diagnostic Imaging Center in New York City.

Doshi Diagnostics, a corporation employing 1,500 people in 38 diagnostic centres in the USA, has acquired the MROpen unit in order to make MRI examinations possible for claustrophobic patients as well as for oversized patients, eliminating the “tunnel effect” typical of traditional “closed” or “bore” MRI systems.

The vertical magnet opening, together with the wide space available to patients provide unprecedented patient comfort, unmatched by any other system including the traditionally “open C-shaped” MRI systems.
